So LOL I went with Sam and Leech to see the Dark Knight again, against my better judgment XD; And well I wanted to see those two but I honestly didnt quite have the time x_X But apparently they think I ditch them a lot :C which makes me sad, because I am honestly REALLY busy all the time. He really does overshadow the rest of the movie, IMO. Well, and I've always thought Batman was a boring as shit character any way.

I was there when she was less than a week old and named her Two Face after one of my favorite Batman villains, ofcourse. I hope I can get a picture of her, she was a neat cat.
But yeah, in light of all this batman/joker faggotry I might be skipping the rave this weekend (because of lack of money) and one of the things I have to look forward to is Batman Beyond playing on cartoon network. YEY.

Kaa bit me for the first time.

I'm honestly a little worried about her. I mean, I am almost always worried about her because I over react to EVERYTHING but she hasnt come out of her hide for over a week :C
And any how, today she seemed really pissy when I took her out of her tank. Instead of balling like she usually does, she puffed up a little. I placed her in her feeding bin and she ate the mouse no problems. But there was a LOT of blood from the mouse, which is semi-unusual. She was heading towards the blood when I went to remove her from the bin so I could clean up and she just barely punctured the knuckle on my index finger with her teeth. I actually think she was just as surprised as I was because immediately she withdrew her head and kinda balled. I'm assuming it was because a)she was being protective of her food, b) I startled her c) she's just cranky today or d)not used to being handled after eating
at any rate, it didn't hurt at all, and no hard feelings. I just put a pillowcase over her for safety measures and plopped her back in the tank. I'm going to try picking her up again in a day or two after she's digested and see if she's back to her old docile self. If not, something must be up.

And as for drawing and commissions...
I'm sorry, I'll be honest. I am being totally lazy today. I tried to draw and my wrist feels disconnected or something XD I'm just not in the mood for drawing :C

okay, well today has been a long day XD;
I want to write an actual entry, but as an overview:
-OMFG I am OFFICIALLY going to college. YEEHEEE <3 yeah, I went today and got signed up for Fall quarter, so far I'm taking Drawing I on MWF, Design I:2-D on MWF, and Life Drawing I on thursdays. So all in all 13 credits, which is considered full time. I just hope I dont get burned out on art XD; but something tells me I wont.
-I turned in my application (with a very nice resume) to Jones & Co. Pet store. I REALLY EFFING WANT THIS JOB. So hopefully they call me! >w<
- I had a very sucessful feeding session with Kaa and her new feeding bin. I used live prey this time but put Kaa on an elevated surface to give her even more of a striking advantage. She gobbled it up and then took a lazy snake nap. But yeah, I plan on doing F/T mice from now on, it's just at J&C they dont have pre killed and I was already there to drop off the ap. and yeah XD;
-GOING RIVER RAFTING WITH ALISHA ON SATURDAY AND THEN CAMPING TILL MONDAY. FUCK YEAH. I LOVE camping XDD

One of the things that I always look forward to when seeing a movie is the previews. And unfortunately, the previews for Hellboy weren't all that great, but THEN
there was this preview where the first thing is this deep growly man voice talking, and I didn't reonize it's voice, but then Pook blurts out "Oh no... Vin Diesel" and I just CRACKED UP laughing XDD GOD so that was our on going joke of the night lololol.

Who, speaking of, got a pre-killed mouse to today. She is so confused. XS; Siiiigh. This worked ONCE before, but she is a fairly old snake and I'm sure she's some what set in her ways. So now, her face is hovering right over the mouse and her tongue is flicking in and out, but it's not enough to trigger a response :/
She's interested because I'm sure she's hungry, but she doesn't want to attack it. I tried moving the mouse around a bit, to make it seem alive but she just acted totally confused and just turned around in her hide log and ignored me x___x;
I mean, I have really mixed feelings about live feeding. The main problem for me is that it's putting the snake at a risk. It's rare for the snake to get injured but it can happen and I dont want anything to happen to Kaa. As low of a risk as it may be, it's still there.
The LAST mouse I gave her was really scared me. It was a bigger mouse, and Kaa went for the leg instead of the head, and so it gave the mouse and opportunity to bite her. It didn't do any damage, but it still spooked me a little X___x

So if this doesn't work, I really need to GET ON buying a feeding tank/bin. I've put it off for so long, and I think it would be better for the snake. She'd get that predatory food response, and with no obstacles Kaa would have a better opportunity to strike. It would be easy to monitor the mouse, so if anything bad did happen I could kill the mouse myself.
Dont get me wrong btw, I love rodents, but a pythons gotta eat!

I am REALLY TRYING to be a better pet owner. I mean, I wasn't BAD in the first place (my cats are some of the most amazing, well taken care of cats ever) but I keep thinking about getting other animals (like a corn snake, leopard gecko, or skink) but I need to take much much better care of Kaa FIRST. In the future I would like to be some-what of a reptile hobbyist because reptiles fascinate me, and they have always fascinated me, but it's a huge responsibility. Sooo... I dont know if I'm up for it yet. I mean, I've had Kaa for nearly two years and I'm STILL learning a TON about her. I mean, I have a book on ball pythons that I've read up and down, but there are things that the books DONT tell you. The best keeper advice is that that I've gotten from experienced reptile keepers or professionals.

ANYWAY I'm starting to rample but, my goals for Kaa:
-get feeding tank/bin
-get hide place for cool side of tank
-get some more tank decorations (fake leaves, sticks, etc)
-get her on a better feeding schedule
-handle her WAY MORE often. She's become sooo sooooo shy compared to when I first got her :////

So immediately after that last entry, I decided that is is just so beautiful outside, I had to go out and BE in it.

So I went into my back yard, and stood underneath some trees in this one little nook that I love... the ground is all moss so it's really soft and there's ferns everywhere and next to this little spot under the trees there's these big bushes on either side. It's a really cozy spot. Though, the tree I was under is dying, moss has taken over a lot of it and the bark is worn away from cats and squirrels, but theres still leaves on it. So I wasnt getting directly rained on, but lots of big drops were falling on me from the tree XD but the location made it bearable.

Ah, just everything looks so fresh and green and lush, it's just really amazing. The sky is all grey, you cant even see shapes in the clouds, but there's a lot of light still so it's like everything is soaked but illuminated.

And in the backyard, I noticed on the tree I was next to, there was a snail as big as my thumb. I look closer, and there's an ever teenier brown slug directly next to it. And after watching these two for a whille, I realize that there are baby moths like, ALL OVER this tree, and they are about as big as my thumb as well. It was really cool.
And the slug and the snail were all *touch touch* with their antennae and GARRWEER it was pretty cute. If I only had a camera, I would have taken pictures and submitted it to cuteoverload.com. YEAH THAT CUTE.

Anyhow, there are a "murder" of crows that are constantly over our house... About five of them, and I dont know a whole lot about crows but since their behavior is always the same I'm assuming it's the same ones. They usually spend the day in the front yard on the power line yacking it up (which is fun to hear) but today I can see them hoping around in a tree in my front yard. It's pretty cute. rawr.

NATURE I LOVE YEW. Yeah, I tell people I'm a huge hippy at heart and they dont beleive me. loool.

So after some intense, unbearably hot days...
It's now cooled down to the 50's and its raining, AND there's thunder and lightening!!!
How exciting! I love thunderstorms, they're fun and exciting, but also really relaxing and comforting for me. Too bad my cats dont feel the same way hahah. XD Especially Little Kitty, he's looking at me right now as I type this like I'm making the loud boomboom sounds. Everytime there's thunder he meows and looks at me like "heeey stoooop iiit 8("
